2010 (Sunny, FL): HumanWear introduces hip eco tees for males, females & babes…beyond our present thinking.
Products
HumanWear tees are not the old treehugger style that are scratchy, tight around the neck, only come in a natural color and fit like a box. Our tees feel like butter, come in cool colors like moss, cigar and washed black, and have a flattering perfect fit. The messages are not in-your-face, but smart and thought-provoking like GREENLICIOUS-environmentally good or COMMUNAL EVOLUTION-a collective push towards a higher state. “We set out to make shirts we would wear,” says founder Jellie Stanton. “They’re a good way for people to brand themselves as someone participating in the green movement.” For added value, customers get a FREE Eco Sticker and designer packaging tape for shipping so the package will arrive as a gift – not just a box.
Sustainability
HumanWear is committed to sustainable practices and is certified by Green America. Our tees are made from 100% certified organic cotton, a recycled eco blend or 100% cotton, under sweatshop-free conditions. We use recycled paper hangtags, ship in recyclable boxes and buy carbon offsets so our shipments are carbon neutral. You can send a tee as a gift with our amazing recycled gift wrapping with personalized recycled note card. “Our intent is to show that an eco-conscious tee goes beyond just the fabric and can be affordable,” says Jellie. “By wearing our tees, you’re supporting the local and indie companies in our supply chain who provide environmentally good alternatives. We select the products and services from their offerings that we believe people will value and want to buy.”
HumanWear was inspired by the documentary Go Further starring Woody Harrelson & Laura Louie in which they show that as educated consumers, we can make better more informed choices about the products we buy … WE HAVE A VOICE. HumanWear gives back by donating at least 1% of sales to the non-profit organization Grey2kUSA.org to support the closure of greyhound racing tracks across the US.
